Nursing Homes (NH) often struggle to provide Palliative Care (PC) to their residents with Alzheimer’s and other Related Dementias (ADRDs). As a result, many NHs are searching for external PC consultants to help facilitate care within their facilities. Unfortunately, there are no clinical trials that provide examples of sustainable models of PC or their effectiveness in this population. Although, there is evidence that knowledge of or training in PC by NH staff can have benefits in patient care. The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the UPLIFT- PC implementation model in enhancing capacity of nursing homes to train in primary PC and improving the quality of life and quality of care for ADRD nursing home patients.
